What happens during my appointment?
Allow around 40–60 minutes. You’ll lie down comfortably on a sofa or bed during whitening. Your appointment includes a conversation about your smile goals, preparation with lip protection and a gum barrier, whitening with a hydrogen peroxide gel, and aftercare guidance. The gel helps break down discoloration in natural teeth.
Will I see results after one session?
Many clients notice a brighter smile after just one session. Your starting shade and the type of staining help determine your results.
Choose a single visit or our three-session Diamond Package. Not sure where to start? I’ll talk through your smile goals and the options with you before you book.
How long do results last?
With proper care, your brighter smile can last for months—even more than a year. How long it lasts depends on your eating and drinking habits and your oral hygiene routine. Regular brushing and flossing, along with limiting foods and drinks that stain, help maintain your results.
Will my teeth feel sensitive afterward?
Some people notice temporary sensitivity after whitening, which usually fades within 24–48 hours. Whitening gel passes through the enamel to work on discoloration, and teeth can feel more sensitive for a short time afterward.
A toothpaste for sensitive teeth, such as Sensodyne Pronamel Intensive Enamel Repair, can help build protection against sensitivity and strengthen acid-weakened enamel with regular use. Follow the product’s directions. I’ll walk you through simple aftercare to help you feel comfortable at home.
Do crowns, veneers, or fillings whiten?
Whitening works on natural teeth. Crowns, veneers, and fillings keep their existing color. Let me know if you have visible restorations so we can talk through your smile goals before your appointment.
What should I do after my whitening appointment?
You can drink water right after your session! I recommend waiting 40 minutes to an hour before eating.
To help keep your smile bright, maintain your daily brushing and flossing routine and limit foods and drinks that can stain teeth, such as coffee, tea, and red wine.
If you experience sensitivity during the first 24–48 hours, avoid very hot or very cold foods and drinks. Room-temperature options can help keep you comfortable. Sensitivity is usually temporary.

Is Diamond Grin a dental office?
Diamond Grin is a mobile cosmetic teeth whitening service, with personal attention in the comfort of your own space. Appointments do not include dental exams or cleanings.
Can I whiten during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
As a precaution, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to book a whitening session.
Where do you travel?
We're based in San Mateo and visit homes, offices, and hotels across the Bay Area. There is no additional travel fee within 30 miles of San Mateo; farther locations may have a fee quoted in advance.
